The history of the jeans

The history of the jeans

Jeans has built up a long history. There are different fits, washes and so on .. All this does not mean that you can easily find jeans nowadays. So much choice !! We are happy to explain more about the different fits and washes, so that you can find the ideal jeans!

The first jeans made of blue denim and rivets date back to 1873. The fabric "denim" is originally from the French city of Nîmes. The jeans consist of a sturdy warp weave with a white weft yarn and two or more colored warp threads. The warp yarn is colored with the dye indigo. Over the years, jeans have known different styles. The 21st century is all about creating your own style, to emphasize your own personality. This has left room for the return of, for example, the high-waist jeans from the 1980s.
Geisha is originally a jeans brand. The denim range consists of denim jackets, jeans and shorts. In the latest collections, attention is paid to contemporary trends in fitting.

Fits

Straight fit

With the straight fit, the legs run straight down from the knee to the hem. In addition, you can combine this fit with different types of shoes such as a sneaker or heel.

Skinny fit

With the skinny fit, the model has a tight fit around the thigh and is narrow to the foot. Combined with a heel, this model gives a beautiful feminine silhouette.

Slim fit

With the slim fit, the model has a tight fit around the thigh and runs narrow to the foot. This beautiful and slim fit gives a fashionable cut.

Hight waist

High waist jeans close to the belly button. The advantage of these jeans is that the waist is nicely trimmed and the feminine silhouette accent on the legs and waist is enhanced.

Bootcut fit

With the bootcut fit, the pants are connected to the thighs. From there the fit runs wide from the knee to the zoom. You combine these jeans with a nice boot.

Washings

Within the Geisha collection, different washings are used to make each jeans unique with its own wash. Geisha mainly uses bleach and stonewash washes. Bleach wash bleaches denim, which creates lighter colors on the fabric. Stonewash is used to give the denim fabric a "worn" appearance through the use of pumice stones during the wash. In this way, the indigo dye in the jeans fades, causing you to see color differences.

Jeans have therefore already built up an enormous history, where it still remains an art to find the right jeans because there is so much choice ... So keep your orientation and look at all possible options. If you have any questions you can always contact us to find those perfect jeans!
