Fall/Winter '22 - Top 5 fashion trends for girls

Fall/Winter '22 - Top 5 fashion trends for girls

Last runway season we saw many trends that will inspire us for the fashion of the autumn and winter season of 2022. We at Geisha have made a clear top 5 for the fashion trends of the girls, so you don't have to go through all the trends yourself to find the best ones.

Trend Barbiecore

When you think of autumn and winter, you think of dark and warm colours like brown, orange and dark green. However, this year a completely different colour is at the centre of the autumn season: bright pink. The colour owes its popularity to Valentino's all pink fashion show. Since then, there is even a whole style related to the colour, namely barbiecore. As the name suggests, one dresses up as a Barbie doll. Bright pink is a must in an outfit inspired by Barbie. Participating in this trend is not that difficult, all you need are some nice pink clothing items. To make it easy you can wear only one pink item per outfit, but if you want to go a bit more exuberant it is also super fun to create an all pink outfit. At Geisha we have a number of items that perfectly fit this trend, from jumpers to trousers.

Trend Back to the 2000s

The 2000s have been present in fashion trends for a while now, Y2K is everywhere. From her accessories to complete outfits, the 2000s have a firm grip on the current fashion trends. The 2000s trend that is taking over the fall/winter season is the skirt-pants combination. This trend was seen in the 2000s mainly by Disney stars, but now it is worn on the runways as well as in streetwear. There are two ways to style this trend: 1) A monochrome look, think of a whole outfit in one colour or in one print. 2) A combination of midi or maxi skirts over trousers, here the trousers stand out a little less and function more as a nice extra detail to the skirt than as a central part of the look.
At Geisha we have many flair trousers and skirts with the same print that would make a perfect combination for the monochrome look. Finish the look with a pair of plain trainers and you'll be the hippest around.

Trend Vintage inspired

Not only the 2000s are coming back, but almost all previous fashion periods seem to be returning within the current trends. It's not so much that one period is central to this trend, but rather that individual items from each period are taken to create a vintage inspired look. With this trend you see a lot of 70s and 80s prints and models, also the 90s mom jeans are very popular this season. At Geisha you see a lot of these prints and mom jeans in our collection. Style the jeans with a nice 80s or 70s inspired jumper and your vintage look is complete.

Trend Natural

The fashion industry is thinking more and more about how we can make clothes without having a big impact on the environment. This is also reflected in the trends. For example, for the autumn/winter season we see many beige and cream shades coming back. This is partly due to the fact that items are produced that are not dyed in order to reduce the use of water in the production process. With the natural trend, monochrome looks are predominant in the above shades. To add some extra dimension to the looks, there is a lot of use of different structures within the trend. Think of chunky knit jumpers or fabrics like corduroy. Also at Geisha we have a number of items within this trend, think of our matching set in a natural colour with a corduroy fabric. Add some nice white trainers and the outfit is complete.

Trend Otherwear

With this trend, the focus is on travelling. A lot of inspiration is taken from folklore and other cultures. The trend should create a feeling of distance, freedom and self-determination. Within this trend, you will see many folk motifs, patchwork and ikat prints. Also colour-blocking, an outfit in for example two alternating colours, is important in this trend. At Geisha we also used the ikat-print, you can see them back in our tops. Style them with wide trousers and cute boots and you are right on trend.
