Spring/Summer '23 - How to combine magenta?
Pantone has crowned magenta as colour of the year, so we will see many different shades of pink passing within fashion trends this summer season. In this blog post, we explain how best to style your pink clothing items to create the perfect summer outfit.
Denim
Whatever shade of pink you have, this colour always pairs well with denim. Blue and pink are opposite each other on the colour wheel and create contrast within an outfit. Either by pairing your pink clothing items with denim, the pink colour will pop off. Often light denims work better, but any kind of denim can be styled well with pink. Wear your pastel pink cardigan on baggy jeans or style your light pink top with bleached skinny jeans to look fresh and stylish.
Combine it with orange
Perhaps the combination of pink and orange used to be a real no-go, but in 2023 you will see this combination more and more often. For example, these two colours are often used within one clothing item, think of a pink and orange print on a top, shorts or skirt. This combination is best used with a colour-blocking outfit or a matching set.
What is colour blocking?
Colour blocking involves using at least two colours repeatedly within an outfit. Think of an orange top that you style with a pink bottom and then finish the look with orange shoes and pink accessories.
Full pink outfit
Of course, you can always go for an all-pink look, also known as monochrome dressing. The nice thing about this is that you can go for a look in exactly the same shade of pink, but you can also use different shades of the pink colour to add some slack to the outfit. For example, wear your bright pink chest print t-shirt under a pastel pink cardigan and finish the look with a peachy bottom.
Neutrals
Pink also always pairs well with neutrals, making your pink clothing item the focal point of your outfit. Pair a bright pink top with white jeans or style a peachy jumper with cream-coloured trousers.
